What they say about NB Management orchestras
Guildford Philharmonic
“
Respighi was not only a great orchestrator but a great tunesmith as well, and the performance of The Pines of Rome bore this out. There were some lovely solos from the woodwind. The depiction of the catacombs, with the quasi-plainsong melodies, was particularly moving, and the approach of the Roman legions along the Appian Way, imposing and thrilling indeed.
“How many other orchestras can in the same concert give striking performances of John Williams' splendid score for Star Wars, launch headlong into Prelude Fugue and Riffs by Bernstein in which the brass and saxophones excelled themselves, accompany Lesley Garrett in [arias and] songs from the shows, and round off with a flashy rendition of That's Entertainment?”

“
This was a stunning concert by anyone's standards, and the Philharmonic is an orchestra of which Guildford can be justifiably proud. It ranks up there with any other professional orchestra, and the programme (like a sampler CD for a high-end stereo) showed off the colour, techncal excellence and professionalism of the orchestra to great effect.”

I have to say I was very impressed with the orchestra – their playing was beyond my expectations...”

“
The English language does not contain enough superlatives to describe the impact of Guildford Philharmonic's latest … the quality of their playing was impressive to say the least. Mozart's Serenade Nº 11 received a masterly performance, and Rachmaninov's Symphonic Dance Nº 3 had me on the edge of my seat.
“…Strauss's Symphony for Wind, an astonishingly vibrant work, was nothing short of amazing in every detail, and incredibly moving.”
London Soloists
“
There was something highly moving about Tchaikovsky's 6th Symphony at Cadogan Hall. What pleased throughout was the depth of sound present: the orchestra is small, yet every instrument so willingly slotted into and darted around the texture that great sonic landscapes materialised before the eyes. Every section rose to great heights of virtuosity, with the woodwind noticeably superb.
“…I felt as though I was watching one of the great European orchestras.”
